Am I reading that correctly that Prime NG is going to paid direction if so, what is the plans for that?

We have completed our migration from the
PrimeNGpackage tong-zorro-antdversion 15.5, which provides a similar component structure and is compatible with Angular and the Metronic theme.This migration has now been completed on our development branch. With the upcoming release of ASP.NET Zero 15.5, we will no longer be using the

Can you guys provide a document on how to keep PrimeNG if clients like us need to keep using and are willing to pay for the license. This is the same situation as the AutoMapper where it has taken months to get some kind of guide on how to keep using Automapper if we so choose to.

Hi,
You can continue using PrimeNG but we will not support it for the following versions. If you want to use PrimeNG, you will have problems getting our updated and Power Tools might cause some issues for code generation as well.
We don't want to include any paid-licensed products into ASP.NET Zero because in that case, each customer must purchase separate licenses (PrimeNG, AutoMapper etc...).
So, our suggestion is to move to new libraries we integrated.

After 6 years of building out our site, switching off PrimeNG is a nightmare.
I understand that you don't want to include and paid-licensed products but allow the options for clients to choose since we inherited it and built out extensively.

We completely understand your concern. For a project that has been developed and customized around PrimeNG for six years, migrating to another component library is obviously not a small change.
You can continue using PrimeNG in your existing application, and we are not preventing customers from doing so. However, starting with ASP.NET Zero 15.5, our Angular application, templates, Metronic integrations, and Power Tools code generation will be developed and tested against
ng-zorro-antd.Supporting both PrimeNG and ng-zorro-antd in parallel would effectively require us to maintain two different Angular UI stacks. This would significantly increase the complexity of framework upgrades, Metronic updates, Power Tools templates, testing, and long-term maintenance.
Because of this, PrimeNG will no longer be an officially supported UI library in future ASP.NET Zero versions.
For existing applications with extensive PrimeNG customizations, there are essentially two options:
- Continue using your current PrimeNG based application and selectively integrate future ASP.NET Zero changes yourself.
- Migrate gradually to ng-zorro-antd when upgrading to newer ASP.NET Zero versions.
We also understand that customers with large existing PrimeNG codebases may need more guidance during this transition. We will consider providing migration-related documentation or guidance covering the main architectural and component-level changes between the two implementations.
Our intention with this change is not to force customers into unnecessary rewrites, but to keep ASP.NET Zero free from dependencies that would require each customer to purchase additional commercial licenses while maintaining a sustainable upgrade path for future versions.
